For many of us New Year marks the start of new goals, dreams, review of previous year, but for me birthday serves as a start point. Today is another birthday for me, nothing big, not “over the hill” yet, but I am dangerously close, still have 365 days to go though. It had been a great, challenging year of my life. Some people became farther away and some got closer. I was fortunate to travel a little with my parents and then with my kids. New York trip with my mom and dad was short but intense, even though my parents don’t have as much pep in their step as they did “few years” ago, but we still covered a lot. California trip with the family was less intense but still very exciting. I am really looking forward to our next adventure.
I started this blog and enjoy reading other people posts. I find myself lost in the eloquence of writing that many of the bloggers posses and it makes me want to read more, but then I realize that there are only 24 hours in the day-so not fair, I would love to have more time.
Kids are growing and I feel their growing pains. My son is learning to drive and my daughter is looking at clothes that I secretly wish she will never grow old enough to wear. I know it’s not your age that defines you, but how you feel, and I feel like my road to “the hill” will be exciting and challenging and rewarding because:
“Life is 10 percent what you make it
and 90 percent how you take it.”
― Irving Berlin
“Every day one should at least hear one little song, read one good poem, see one fine painting and — if at all possible — speak a few sensible words.”
― Johann Wolfgang von Goethe and this is the slogan for my next year-1,2,3,,,,,1,2,3-and we are dancing!!!
